Optical Ground Wire OPGW

AAC Conductors

This bare concentric-lay stranded conductor is constructed with a straight round central wire surrounded by one or more layers e.g.: helically wires.

Application:

The aluminium cables are used normally in overhead lines.

AAAC Conductors

This bare concentric-lay stranded conductor is constructed with a straight round central wire surrounded by one or more layers e.g.: helically wires.

Application:

Used as bare overhead conductor for primary and secondary distribution.
Designed utilizing a high strength aluminium alloy to achieve a high strength-to-weight ratio; affords better sag characteristics.
Aluminium alloy gives AAAC higher resistance to corrosion than ACSR.

Steel Reinforced ACSR conductors

Core wire for ACSR is available with class A, B, or C galvanizing; aluminum-clad (AW). Additional corrosion protection is available through the application of grease to the core or infusion of the complete cable with grease.

Application:

Used as bare overhead conductor for primary and secondary distribution. ACSR offers optimal strength for line design.

Optical Ground Wire OPGW

OPGW cables are concentric stranded cables, made of one or more layers of aluminium alloy wires, and a core made of high resistant galvanized steel or in ACS.
The optical unit is composed by a defined number of optical fibres, are housed inside one or more stainless steel tubes with or without aluminium coating.

Application:

The optical fibre ground wire cable combines the function of grounding with communications with a high performance component.
